Updates on Events

JAPAN WALK-A-THON

Walkathon
Thank you for the support for our school and particularly the 4th Grade Teachers and classes for spearheading the Walk-A-Thon for Japan! Even with the quick notice, students and families walked to action and were able to raise over $2,400which Ms. Specker (Teacher to Class 401) presented during the Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday.
Many thanks for showing care and compassion for our friends of Japan!

CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

Cherryblossom1
The support for Japan continued on Saturday, during the 1st Annual Cherry Blossom Festival! There were many events to enjoy which shared the beauty of the Japanese culture. A special thank you to all volunteers - and especially those that helped from our PS/IS 217 community!

Columbian Music Performance

On Friday, April 15th, the students of PS/IS 217 were sent off for Spring Break with a lively and energetic performance put on by: Class 301, 302, 345 and some of the After-School Beacon Students, as they performed with the Turtle Bay Residency Musical Group. The show was filled with singing, dancing and instruments & had the audience members dancing in their seats!
We are grateful for the grant that was given to our school from Jessica Lapin's office and money raised from the PTA that makes this and other similar enrichment programs possible. Please continue to support such incredible programs that we can offer to the children of our school by donating during any of the PTA Fundraisers. With the support of parents and families who generously give of their resources, we are fortunate to have the arts in our school through these programs. THANK YOU!
*Note - There are two more performances this month with Ballroom Dancing and Gold Opera that you won't want to miss. Please join us for those events!
