Family Reading Night at the Roosevelt Island School (P.S./I.S. 217)
Elementary grades students of the Roosevelt Island School had a Family Reading Night in the school library on March 19th. It was a wonderful way to finish Scholastic Book Fair week at P.S./I.S. 217. Students were excited to meet author Angela Parrino who read the stories about a bird Wendy and a polar bear Gus. Her imaginative and interactive presentations brought the characters to life, reminding the families that reading is fun.
Craft making and book swap tables were also among students' favorites. They made their own reading logs, and whoever reads the most books in one month will win a Scholastic book pack.
